Info re: loss of water service Print E-mail

Miamisburg, Ohio - Feb. 9, 2018:  The following is the most current information available about water service issues in Miamisburg today:

·        * Early this morning, Public Works crews learned of a decreasing water level in the Richard Street water tank and began trying to identify the cause.

·        * Residents and businesses began reporting a loss of water service or low water pressure.

·        * Crews identified a probable location of the cause in the City’s wellfield along the Great Miami River.  At this time, it is believed that a broken valve has caused an interruption in the distribution of drinking water.  Repairs are underway.  It is hoped that repairs will be completed and water service will be restored tonight.

·        * As a precaution, a Boil Water Advisory has been issued for an estimated 1,000 customers.  A link to a map is provided below that shows the affected area.  The Boil Advisory is in effect until further notice.  Nearby areas of the community may also experience low water pressure at times.

* Free bottled water is being distributed today to affected residents from 3 to 8 p.m., or while supplies last, at the Miamisburg Community Center (formerly Senior Adult Center), 305 E. Central Avenue.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
