In developing the scope of programs available to the membership, the Center’s professional staff researches national recreational trends and customizes the Center’s activities to match available resources with membership interests.  These activities are grouped into four core areas and represent the finest collection to be found.

Out & About Adventures
Out & About Adventures are carefully selected to offer our members a range of affordable travels.  From theatre and concerts to sports venues, these enjoyable group outings provide stimulating and memorable experiences.  Our members agree “You’re sure to meet the nicest people and share the best of times when Out & About with the Miamisburg Senior Adult Center!”

Examples of Out & About trips:
• Vaud-Villities at Veteran’s Memorial Hall, Columbus
• Titanic, the Musical at Wright State University
• Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark

Fun with Friends
Fun with Friends programs provide excellent opportunities for members to connect with one another.  These activities are directly aimed at strengthening social bonds and sense of community, which are as essential to life and health as air and water.  The benefits are unique in that, while sharing time and common interests, participants give back as much as they receive.  The willingness of individuals to share their time with a group of their peers is invaluable – truly the energy that drives the Center.

Examples of Fun with Friends activities:
• Cookout ‘round the Campfire
• Games, Cards & More
• Dining Adventures

Active Pathways
Active Pathway programs are designed to invigorate the mind, rejuvenate the body and revitalize the spirit through a mix of personal conditioning, outdoors recreation and environmental appreciation activities.  Active Pathways offer members exceptional opportunities to stay active and enjoy life.

Examples of Active Pathways activities:
• Walkabouts - trips to fairs, festivals, and exhibitions
• Fit Mit Spass – fitness fun imported from Germany
• Wild Times – park naturalist led nature walks

Expanding Horizons
Expanding Horizon programs provide personal enrichment benefits through artistic expression and academic exploration.  Widespread research today suggests that these are important keys to aging well.  These activities introduce new skills and fresh perspectives to those of the belief that learning is a lifelong endeavor.

Examples of Expanding Horizons activities:
• From Cold War to Hot War – The Civil War
• Big Picture Mystery Tours
• Culture Quests

SAC’s Café
No other need is more universal than food or more basic to human existence than sharing a meal with others.  Promising a warm helping of hospitality, SAC’s Café is ready to serve up your favorites.  Members are welcome to invite friends and family as their guests to SAC’s Café events.  Advance ticket purchase is highly recommended as same-day reservations and drop-in seating are subject to availability.

Examples of SAC’s Café dinner themes:
• Opie & Andy’s Favorites – Mayberry’s best chops, chicken and carved ham
• Where were you in ’62 – all the menu favorites from Mel’s Drive-In
• Lincoln’s Last Supper – Yankee pot roast with a special guest
• Titanic’s Last Dinner – first class dining on fast food bucks
