Police Officer

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio (pop. 20,000) is accepting applications for the full-time position of Police Officer.  All applicants must be at least 21 years of age;  possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; have no felony record; and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred).

Applicants who are not currently a certified peace officer must successfully complete a written Civil Service exam and a physical fitness assessment.  The Civil Service exam will be administered on Saturday, October 11, 2014.  The physical fitness assessment will be administered on Thursday, October 23, 2014.  The locations and times of the testings will be provided at a later date.

Applicants who are currently a certified peace officer with a minimum of one year of full-time law enforcement employment are not required to complete the written exam or physical fitness assessment to be considered for employment.  Prior service will be taken into consideration towards starting pay and leave benefits.

The compensation package includes a pay range of $24.36 - $31.97 per hour with excellent benefits.

Office Coordinator Position Opening

The Miami Valley Risk Management Association (MVRMA), located in Kettering, Ohio, is seeking an Office Coordinator. MVRMA is a public entity risk pool serving 20 cities in southwest Ohio. This position reports to the Executive Director and requires diverse administrative, financial, and clerical skills. The successful candidate will be proficient with Word, Excel, and Publisher, and have experience using accounting software.  The position requires excellent written and verbal communication abilities, working knowledge of bookkeeping practices, the ability to learn insurance concepts and to work independently on a variety of projects. Responsibilities include general office duties, including answering phones, ordering supplies, preparing agenda packets and minutes; financial duties including entering data into accounting software, assisting with preparation of financial statements, reconciling bank accounts, preparing payroll for a small office, and accounts payable; insurance program duties including maintaining loss exposure data and issuing certificates of insurance; communication functions including editing the quarterly newsletter, maintaining association handbook, and routine website maintenance.

Desired Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree and five years related experience, or some equivalent combination of education and experience. Those with experience in local government administration may be considered first.
Pay range is $23 to $32 per hour with a 30 to 32.5 per week schedule. Excellent benefit package, including health insurance, life insurance, and Ohio PERS pension.
