Parks Supervisor

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio (pop. 20,000), a historic suburban community in the south Dayton metropolitan region is accepting applications for the position of Parks & Facilities Supervisor.  Miamisburg is a progressive and growing community that retains its small town charm with an historic downtown and a mix of older neighborhoods and new housing developments.

The City of Miamisburg’s nationally accredited Parks & Recreation Department serves approximately 50,000 residents, including surrounding Miami Township.  The Department is focused on implementing several initiatives from the City’s Strategic Plan, the Department’s Master Plan and developing Riverfront Park as a key element in revitalizing the City’s Downtown.  

The position reports to the Parks & Facilities Superintendent within the Parks & Recreation Department and is responsible for the overall operation and supervision of park maintenance.  The Supervisor performs administrative and supervisory work necessary to direct overall operations and maintenance of 20 neighborhood and community parks, grounds and rights-of-way maintenance, family aquatic center, 3 sports complexes; implementation of capital development projects; the supervision and development of full-time, part-time and seasonal employees; budget management; implementation of preventative maintenance program and work order tracking system; coordination of contract vendors; working with youth sports associations, special event committees and the urban forestry advisory board.

The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation or related field with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience; or a minimum of five years of professional field experience in parks and/or building maintenance with a minimum of three years in a management/supervisory capacity and a high school diploma or equivalent; possess or obtain certifications in the field of parks and facilities maintenance during the probationary period; possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, knowledge of and the ability to manage various maintenance skills and equipment, preventative maintenance, and construction.  The salary range is $49,838 - $63,931, DOQ.  Applications can be downloaded from the City’s website at www.ci.miamisburg.oh.us and returned to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or 10 N. Programmer Coordinator

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is seeking a qualified candidate to oversee the planning, development, coordination and implementation of Club IMPACT, an after-school program in Miamisburg. Club IMPACT (Integrity, Motivation, Professionalism, Attitude, Character and Teamwork) is operating out of the Miamisburg Youth Center facility Monday through Friday, from 3 – 6 p.m., working approximately 20 hours per week over the course of the school year.  The program operates Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. working approximately 25 hours per week during the months school is on summer break. The part-time Program Coordinator will work closely with three Recreation Leaders to implement the drop-in program, which will include daily supervision and interaction with children in grades 3 – 8.  The Program Coordinator reports directly to the Youth and Family Recreation Programmer.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Undergraduate degree in Parks and Recreation, Education or related field highly preferred. Mini-Bus Driver

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Senior Adult Center Mini-Bus Driver.   This part-time position reports directly to the Recreation Programmer and is responsible for safely transporting passengers while driving a van or bus, and coordinating transportation plans in support of community recreation and senior adult programs.  

The position requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
