Clerk (Parks & Recreation Dept.)

 

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is accepting applications for the full-time position of Clerk for the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position provides office and clerical support to the Parks and Recreation Department.  Oversees assigned office support needs and serves as a backup for the Administrative Assistant. This position is 40 hours per week which includes weekday, evenings, and weekends depending upon program needs. 

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent, with additional education preferred. Qualifications include but are not limited to basic computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft office as well as experience with Rec Trac preferred; effective oral and written communication; good organizational and time management skills, works well with others and has a friendly and positive attitude; and must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.  The 2017 wage rate for the position is $10.67 to $20.00 per hour DOQ with an excellent benefits package.  Applications can be obtained at the City Administration Office or on the City’s website at www.ci.miamisburg.oh.us.  The deadline to submit your application and resume to Human Resources is 5:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2017.

Recreation Programmer

 

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is accepting applications for the full-time position of Recreation Programmer.   This position performs a variety of routine and complex responsibilities including developing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating recreation programs and events for the Miamisburg community; developing partnerships and forming community collaborations; and coordinating marketing efforts to secure sponsorships and promote programs and events.  The primary focus of these responsibilities is on preschool, youth, and family populations and includes cultural arts, fitness and wellness programming for all ages.  The position is 40 hours per week which includes weekday, evenings, and weekends depending upon program needs.  

The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management, education or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating recreation programs and/or events; effective oral and written communication skills; proficient computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, brochure/flyer design, and database development; possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; and obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of appointment.  The 2017 wage rate for the position is $13.33 to $23.23 per hour DOQ with an excellent benefits package.  Applications can be obtained at the City Administration Office or on the City’s website at www.ci.miamisburg.oh.us.  The deadline to submit your application and resume to Human Resources is 5:00 PM, Friday, February 24, 2017.

POLICE OFFICER
(Lateral and Entry Level Positions)


The City of Miamisburg, Ohio (pop. 20,000) is accepting applications for both entry level and lateral full-time positions of Police Officer.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; have no felony record; and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).

Entry level applicants (not currently a certified peace officer) must successfully complete a written test through National Testing Network, Inc.  To schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement and sign up for the Miamisburg Police Department.  Testing must be completed no later than April 21, 2017.  Successful completion of a physical fitness assessment is also required for non-lateral applicants and will be conducted on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  The time and location for the physical fitness assessment will be provided to those applicants who successfully complete the written test.  

Lateral applicants (currently a certified peace officer with a minimum of one year of full-time law enforcement employment) are not required to complete the written test or physical fitness assessment to be considered for employment.  If selected, prior service will be taken into consideration towards starting pay and leave benefits.

The compensation package includes a pay range of $25.59 - $34.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, with excellent benefits.
