The Miamisburg Fire Department operates 24-hours-a-day from two stations and includes 33 full-time firefighters who are also certified paramedics. Crews utilize state-of-the-art apparatus and equipment and undergo extensive training to provide the finest in public safety services. In 2008 the Department placed in service its newest medic unit.
In addition to providing emergency services, the Department also devotes extensive resources to providing comprehensive public education programs for all age groups throughout the community. A Safety Education Team leads these efforts. Members visit every elementary school in Miamisburg annually during Octobers national Fire Prevention Week with age-specific safety messages for students, and provide various other programs throughout the year. The Department also has a popular Halloween/Holiday Trailer that it utilizes as an effective outreach tool in the community. Public safety presentations on a variety of subjectsfrom CPR to child safety seatsare available upon request.
Citizens are encouraged to learn about fire safety and disaster preparedness? The following are a few interactive web sites for families to explore from the comforts of home. All but the first site are sponsored by the State of Ohio or the federal government. The dedicated firefighters serving Miamisburg are available to answer questions and help in the event of emergencies. Just call one of the stations listed below with questions or to schedule a tour of facilities and equipment.
What's the Latest?
Miamisburg voters passed a 3.0-mill replacement fire levy on May 5, 2009. This issue became effective Jan. 1, 2010, replacing an existing fire levy first passed by voters in 1990. Thank you, voters!
