It's no accident that Miamisburg has evolved into such a dynamic suburban community.  Strategic, forward-thinking initiatives by City officials during the past two decades have resulted in significant growth and economic development activity, positioning Miamisburg as an ideal destination for the 21st century.

But don't take our word for it.  In a joint study between Ohio Business magazine and Cleveland State University, Miamisburg was identified in 2003 as one of the top-50 growth cities in Ohio.  A series of annexations has increased Miamisburg's physical size to 12.4 miles, and this is one of the few cities in Montgomery County to show a growth in population since the 2000 census (a 1.8 percent increase to 19,878).  Clearly, families are finding Miamisburg to be an appealing community that provides an attractive quality of life.

On the commercial side, Miamisburg has diverse opportunities for nearly every type of business, including:

High Tech - The Mound Business Park has emerged as a successful technology and light industrial business park.  This facility offers unique and state-of-the-art high-tech equipment, reasonably priced office space and potential access to a highly trained work force.  Existing space and new construction are available.

Light Industrial/Office - The Byers Road/Lyons Road area particularly has become a busy business corridor, with modern facilities, available acreage and convenient access to Interstates 75 and 675.  The southernmost portion of Byers offers I-75 visibility and planned infrastructure improvements.

Retail/Restaurant - Miamisburg can deliver a retail environment to suit most any needs.  These include sites near the burgeoning Dayton Mall area, along a busy thoroughfare in town and in an historic downtown business district.

New and existing businesses can rely on a team of skilled economic development specialists for guidance on such issues as site selection, expansion plans, zoning, permits, grant opportunities, incentive programs and myriad other matters important to commerce.  The Department offers a convenient "one-stop shop" approach, with Planning and Development, Engineering, Building Inspection and Code Enforcement all located together within one dedicated office building at 20 E. Central Avenue in downtown Miamisburg.  This central location is the place to obtain all building, electric, fence, HVAC, engineering and sign permits.

MIamisburg's largest employers are the Kettering Health Network (operator of Sycamore Medical Center) and Avery Dennison.
