Miamisburg City Council holds regularly scheduled meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m. in the Robert H. Mears, Sr., Miamisburg Civic Center. Meetings are cablecast liveand recast uneditedby the Miami Valley Communications Council on channel 5 of the Time Warner system.
Copies of the agenda are posted in the main hallway in the Civic Center approximately four days prior to the meetings.
Agendas are also available on-line and just inside the Council Chamber entrance on the night of meetings.
After traditional opening procedures, meetings typically begin with special presentations made by or for City Council. A Citizens Forum is then provided for anyone in attendance to address Council. Speakers should approach the podium next to the head table and state their name and address before making comments, which are limited to five minutes. At the conclusion of the Citizens Forum, City staff members begin presenting to Council the legislative items on the agenda for official action. Before the meeting adjourns, each member of the head table is afforded an opportunity to make closing comments.
City Council may schedule an executive session as needed to discuss personnel issues, legal matters or the purchase of real estate. Executive sessions are usually held before or after regularly scheduled meetings in the Civic Center conference room and are closed to the public. Council normally holds a study session following regular meetings to discuss future legislation and other matters for their consideration. These meetings are also held in
the Civic Center conference room and are open to the public.
