Fall Road Report

Miamisburg, Ohio - Sept. 5, 2017:  The following is a summary of current or upcoming road projects in the community.

Byers Road Connector
Construction continues on a new two-lane, half-mile road that will connect Byers Road to Old Byers Road.  The $4.7 project will provide improved access for future commercial development in the area, including the new United Grinding facility that is currently under construction.  The new roadway should be completed by the end of October.

Riverfront Park roadway
Construction began recently on the next phase of improvements at Riverfront Park, which will feature a new 1,000-foot road between Linden Avenue and Ferry Street with curb and sidewalk.  The new road will connect with the entranceway on W. Central Avenue with tie-ins and upgrades to parking lots at both ends.  The $1.6 million project is a continuation of phased improvements in the park and downtown area.  Completion is scheduled for early next year.

Twelfth Street bridge rehabilitation
Construction is on track to begin this fall on the bridge just north of Ethel Avenue.  Deteriorated portions of the bridge deck will be replaced, and adjacent creek bed erosion will be remedied.  An Ohio Public Works Commission Issue 2 grant will fund $159,658 of the cost, while the City will match with $160,000.  Twelfth Street will be closed for part of the construction period, and signed detours will be posted.  The project should be complete by year end.

Paving Program
The City's annual maintenance program to repave local streets will be in progress this fall.  This year's program is the largest in history with over 30 streets included.
