Position Overview:
The City of Miamisburgs Parks and Recreation Department serves approximately 50,000 residents, with a service area that including surrounding Miami Township. Overseeing and maintaining 20 neighborhood and community parks, a Community Center, an Aquatic Center, skate park, dog park, numerous community recreation programs and events, and one nine-hole golf course that has been part of the community for over 60 years.
The Parks and Recreation Superintendent reports directly to the Parks and Recreation Director and performs a variety of skilled, supervisory and administrative tasks to improve, increase and maintain opportunities for the community to Play, Discover and Grow. This professional position is responsible for planning, developing, monitoring, organizing, evaluating, motivating and leading the Recreation and Special Events Division of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Superintendent will lead development, implementation and evaluation of programming, events and recreation facility operations for all ages and abilities. The Superintendent is responsible for research of opportunities, collecting and analyzing data, incorporating public input and evaluation, and ensuring excellent customer service while developing action plans and budgets, directing through supervisory of personnel; and evaluating the effectiveness of accomplishments to implement modifications as necessary.
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Tourism, Business Management, Urban Affairs, Communications or related field.
A minimum of five years of experience in an administrative role, including supervision of staff in recreation and special events management or a related field.
Certified Parks and Recreation Professional preferred.
Experience in Capital and Operating budget development and management.
A combination of education, experience and training may be applied in accordance with the City of Miamisburg policy.
Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of leading a comprehensive recreation and special event division.
Operational knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software and ability to learn and use recreation software.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess a valid drivers license.

PROGRAM & EVENT COORDINATOR - Part-time

OPERATIONS MGR, MOUND GOLF COURSE
The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is accepting applications for the full-time position of Operations Manager for Mound Golf Course Clubhouse in the Parks and Recreation Department. This individual would manage the daily operations of the Mound Golf Course Clubhouse, including a small pro-shop, cart rentals, food and beverage operations and organizing leagues and outings. It is a full-time non-exempt position which may include weekday, evenings, and weekends depending upon needs of the City. The position reports to the Operations Supervisor for Recreation Facilities and is responsible for overseeing 10+ seasonal and part-time year-round employees (Operational Leaders)
This position will plan, implement and evaluate golf play, leagues, programs, events and rentals. They will be responsible for maintaining budgets, processing payroll, maintaining financial and operational documentation such as invoices, inventory and other key fiscal responsibilities. Additionally, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall customer experience at Mound Golf Course. This role will also assist the Operations Manager of Marketing in the development of various promotions, the evaluation of data research, and creation and implementation of program and marketing strategy.
Position requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Management, Landscape Architecture, Project Management or related field, or equivalent experience; and a minimum of three (3) years progressive management experience; and a minimum of one (1) certification, equivalent training or licensure specific to area of focus. Candidate must possess a valid Ohio drivers license; and obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within six months of appointment. POLICE OFFICER
The City of Miamisburg, Ohio (pop. 20,000) is accepting applications for both entry level and lateral full-time positions of Police Officer. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid Ohio drivers license; have no felony record or convictions of a crime of violence and possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (associates or bachelors degree preferred). The compensation package includes a pay range of $27.69 - $36.80 per hour--depending on qualifications, education and experience--with excellent benefits.
Entry level applicants (not currently a certified peace officer) must successfully complete a written test and PHQ through National Testing Network, Inc. To schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement and sign-up for the Miamisburg Police Department. Testing must be completed no later than Monday, October 19, 2020. Successful completion of a physical fitness assessment is also required for non-lateral applicants and will be conducted on Saturday, October 24, 2020. The time and location for the physical fitness assessment will be provided to those applicants who successfully complete the written test. A physicians release is required to participate in the fitness assessment. Upon successful completion of the testing and physical fitness assessment, applicants will be asked to submit a City of Miamisburg application.
Lateral applicants (see website for minimum requirements) are not required to complete the written test or physical fitness assessment to be considered for employment.
